I love to paint between March-May because of the feeling of renewal as the day light comes back. The sun is gentler; I don’t have the glare reflecting off my white paper into my eyes like it does in the summer months I don’t seem to tire of trying to capture the same Kemptown buildings.

I’ve always been interested in illustration but I studied Fine Art at Gloucestershire College of Art and Technology to try and understand figurative art and learn oil painting etc. However, I’ve always ‘swum’ back to watercolours loving their freshness and unpredictability.

I am influenced a great deal by the artists and illustrators of 1940s and 1950s, especially the “artist reporters” in World War II, such as Edward Ardizzone, Edward Bawden. (Although my art hero is David Hockney.)
I was born in London, now based in Brighton. I’ve had several exhibitions in London and exhibited at the Mall Galleries. I was selected for Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

I undertake commissions of beloved houses, classic vehicles or camper vans! Famous clients who own my paintings include Tim Waterstone, of the bookshop chain Waterstones, and Joseph Marcell actor and Hollywood star of ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’.
